Senior Education Consultant

PURPOSE OF THE JOB ROLE
  • To work alongside the Director to develop, grow and deliver the portfolio services ECP is able to provide to clients and prospective clients.
  • To proactively contribute to ensure ECP’s position as market leader in the safeguarding sector.

In conjunction with the CEO being accountable for meeting objectives as set in the areas where the Senior Education Consultant is responsible.

KEY TASKS

DELIVERY

  • Direct delivery of accredited safeguarding programmes to a diverse audience/s.
  • To research, develop and design course material ensuring that the material used and referenced is cutting edge and in line with/reflects current trends.
  • Development and implementation of safeguarding audits and supervision programmes.
  • To keep appraised of changes in government guidance, legislation and national trends and associated areas of safeguarding issues related to all areas of the ECP portfolio.
  • Represent ECP at conferences and deliver presentations and lectures on safeguarding issues.
  • Develop professional client relationships through delivering safeguarding programmes.
  • Develop new initiatives within the portfolio of programmes available, to sell to current clients and potential new clients.
  • Identify opportunities for new programmes and develop these as appropriate.

Continue to develop and deliver exceptional safeguarding training programmes, with a focus of specialism on the Education portfolio.

SECTOR OVERSIGHT

  • Lead and champion the education portfolio areas within ECP, dynamically evolving the current offer and ensuring that as the subject matter lead ECP is also at the fore with development and implementation within this specialism.
  • Research and development for personal CPD ensuring where appropriate information is shared with the colleagues and other consultants in order that everyone is updated in regards trends and developments as they relate to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

Be the champion of the Education portfolio within ECP. Cascading and informing the team when required regarding updates to ensure that their knowledge is both current and understood in an insightful way.

CLIENT ENGAGEMENT AND NEW BUSINESS

  • To proactively manage ECP’s relationship with clients through engagement in situ with clients during delivery. This will include discussing business opportunities and upselling courses within the ECP portfolio.
  • To proactively identify and qualify new business opportunities and present these to the CEO.
  • When new business opportunities arise respond effectively to secure client engagement.

Keep your finger on the pulse as regards clients and always look for new opportunities.

Person Specification

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate they meet the following criteria:

Qualifications

  • QTS or relevant occupational qualification in the specialist safeguarding area).
  • Evidence of Continued Professional / Career Development in education.

Experience

  • Working within the education sector within the Designated Safeguarding Team / Senior Leadership team for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Extensive experience of delivering training / qualifications to either professionals or children/young people across a period of 10 years or more.
  • Experience of the development of qualification curriculums, workshops including working with awarding bodies or accreditation programmes.

Knowledge

  • An understanding of equality and a personal commitment to promoting equality of opportunity.
  • Up to date knowledge of legislation, guidance and current initiatives relating to safeguarding framework, especially within Education.
  • Able to demonstrate practical skills effectively.
  • Good communication, organisational and administrative skills.
  • ICT literacy in MS office, especially powerpoint.

  • Have excellent organisation, analytical, communication skills including presentations.
  • Ability to establish good working relations at all levels including with clients.
  • Commitment to the provision of the continuous implementation of quality improvements.

  • Commitment to working outside of office hours, lone working and at weekends and away from home
